Day 2 with no bloody clue

Its day 2 of our lockdown and wasnt really any diff to day 1 lol. Most of mine and the kids day was spent outdoors or downstairs getting our bodies moving which we all needed after day 1.

Let’s all give him a pakipaki: We’ve been making history so far during our lockdown. This morning, my dad changed Netanis shitty nappy for the first time. Yes you heard it here first, he did it, gagging and all. He almost gave up when he got shit on his hand, but he pulled through to the end. Proud of his achievements. This man deserves a beer lol.

Activities with thy children: Today I made an obstacle course for the kids. It didn’t go to plan at all guys! My plan was far too exaggerated for our backyard. Balancing, crawling, jumping, throwing and hand eye coordination was included in this and this course lasted a whole 10mins for Aznie and a whole 30secs for Netani before he got hoha and wanted to play with the pool ladder lol. Probs wont be a regular occurence during this lockdown. Netani has a rugby tots class tomorrow morning via live stream, let’s see how that goes lol.

Self care: today i did a Les Mills BodyCombat workout and wholey hecka!! Sweat eeeeverywhere 😫 I made the kids join in this time round. Aznie lasted 2-3 tracks, Netani…1/2 a track then wanted to go lift weights instead 😂 Heres a link for the BodyCombat workout I did, give it a go 🙂 https://youtu.be/HPytZF6SZ98

That’s all today guys. See you tomorrow for day 3 👍🏽

Day tahi without mahi

My last day of work was cut short by a couple days and I now have a 4 week break before I start my new job. Its crazy how this bloody universe works..

I thought I’d ease into this lockdown shenanigans by having no set routine for the rest of the week and pretty much do whatever the hell we want, when we want. Just a whole bunch of chill time with the kiddy winks.

SELF CARE: Self care is so important for your sanity right? 1 piece of advice I’d love to give to you all, is self care the shit outta yourselves throughout this lockdown. Look after yourself so you can care for your whanau. My self care for today was “body movement” and with all the stuff running through my mind right now, exercise brought, somewhat, a bit of clarity. I chose to do a low impact 30min core workout from the amazing Les Mills team. Body movement will ideally be a daily thing, but alway listen to ya body fam. Take a break if you need. BodyCombat or BodyStep is up tomorrow with a bit of Mindfulness or Yoga in the AM.

Activities for the kids: Today was pretty low key. I mean, we dont want to do every single activity we can think of in 1 day. So introducing 1 or 2 activities every few days is the way to go in this household and it keeps the kids occupied. 1 activity done today was simple. Drawing and Painting. The kids can get super creative with just a few coloured pens, paint and paper. Although the kids had fun doing this, a bit of boredom set in for our 2yr old who tipped the house upside down, pouring water all over the carpet (thank god it was water lol) and demanding everything under the sun. Fun times had by all in our household. I have also planned a backyard obstacle course for the kids tomorrow which will get them out for some fresh air and also get their little bodies moving and their heads thinking, all while having fun.

Ayyy its Corona time!

Mums, Dads, G-Mas, G-Pas, even Older Sibs…. You’ve got this. The official lockdown period has begun in NZ. and for those with children, this ain’t no holiday mate. In fact, we have been forced to start our own damn home daycare/school. So as requested, I am going to take you through my 4 week lockdown journey with 2 kids, 6 and under. Dont be shy to leave comments and advice. Let’s get through this together lol.
